Mike Rutherford, President

For more than 20 years, using workshops, institutes, television, and on-line-technology, Mike Rutherford has been at the forefront of educator development across the United States. Formerly a high school chemistry teacher, coach, and middle school principal, Mike received his BA in Education from Indiana State University, his MA in Educational Leadership from the University of North Carolina. He is currently a PhD candidate in Leadership and Human Development at the University of Wyoming. Mike currently resides in Charlotte, NC with his wife, Danette, and their four children, Michael, Allison, Emily, and Bennett.

Suzanne Ward, Professional Development Specialist

Suzanne has been a teacher for over 35 years. Her passion is learning and working with children and adults to promote learning. Suzanne earned her bachelor degree from Murray State University and her MEd from Miami University of Ohio. She began her teaching career in a suburban high school, continued in an urban middle school, and retired from the Mayerson Academy, a professional development center in Cincinnati.  At Rutherford Learning Group, Suzanne serves as director of the Summer Institute and provides client follow up and support. Married to Ron Ward, Suzanne lives in Liberty Township, Ohio.

Robert G. Maier, Director of Multi-media and Communications

Robert G. Maier is an award-winning multi-media writer/producer/designer. Over his 25 year career, he has worked for several major PBS stations in administrative, marketing and creative capacities. Bob is the executive producer of the RLG video series “Creating The Learning Centered School” and “Requisites Of A Leader.” In addition, he has produced a wide range of videos, television programs, events, publications, and websites for educational institutions, government agencies, and community service organizations, including an educational TV network in Afghanistan. Bob earned an MA in Professional Communications from East Carolina University and a BA in English from The American University. He is an instructor of language and communications courses at several colleges. He and his wife Catheryn have two grown children.
